Marsha C. Andrews Canisteo Marsha C. Andrews, 71, of 97 Greenwood Street, passed away Saturday (January 23, 2016) at the Hornell Gardens. Born in North Hornell, November 13, 1944, the daughter of Edward and Ruth (Hallock) Crandall, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Alfred-Almond Central School “Class of 1962”, and in 1964 graduated Morrisville State Tech with her LPN license. She was retired from nursing, and had worked at the former Bethesda Hospital, and later for the Hornell Gardens for 24 years. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Hornell, where she participated in many ways such as: a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a worship leader, and was a Daughter of the King group of the Church. She also participated in The Bel Canto Singers, and Orpheus Corale. Marsha worked tirelessly for cancer research earning over $ 20,000.00 for the Susan G. Komen foundation, and participating in the Walk for Cure. She enjoyed collecting cardinals, and was an excellent seamstress. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Richard Crandall. She is survived by her husband Robert F. Andrews whom she married on August 26, 1964, her son Mark (Silka) Andrews of Rochester, her daughter Beverly (Kevin) Croston of Corning, and her grandson Gabriel Croston, as well as several nieces nephews, and cousins. The family will be present 1-3pm Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo. A Funeral Mass will be held celebrated at Christ Episcopal Church on Sunday, at 1:00 PM, with Father John Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
