Clarence E. Wesche Allen, NY- Clarence E. Wesche, 97, of 9118 Middle Road, Angelica, New York passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his home. Born on May 3, 1918 in the Town of Allen, he was the son of William and Emma (Hull) Wesche. Clarence was raised primarily by his father and sister after the death of his mother when he was only seven years old. On May 7, 1946, on Basswood Hill, Town of Allen, he married the former Rosemary Damon. They were 84 days short of celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. Clarence attended #8 school and church services at St. Paul Lutheran Church, mentioning he would walk up on the hill daily; if it wasn’t for school, it would be to attend church services. He was the father of four daughters, Irene (Raymond) Hooker- “As a young child, my Dad was very proud and happy with his family; and always showed great love for his dear wife.” Arlene (Donald) Timothy- “I remember my Dad playing the harmonica; his song to my Mom was You Are My Sunshine, and before he put the harmonica down he always played The Old Rugged Cross. “, Shirley (Dean) Timothy- “Our Dad was very clever and innovative. We didn’t have a swing set, so he made one that we could “fly in”. When we needed inside access to the cellar, he altered three steps that lifted to get there. When we needed porch enclosures, he built them. He always found a way to remedy a problem. Most importantly, in his sentimental way, we always knew he loved us”. Brenda (Sam) Norton- “When I was a little girl, I remember the trips to the feed mill, Dad teaching me to drive the ol’ John Deere. Helping him do chores and haying every summer. Dad was an engineer, machinist, and could fix anything. In his later years, he’d stop in just to chat over coffee. I truly miss those days”. Purchasing a farm adjacent to the property where Clarence was born and raised, he and Rosemary renewed the neglected property and started a small dairy farm. With little money and hard work, they turned a house of rubble into a home. Clarence has been greatly blessed with 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; 1 due in May, and 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 due in August. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Edith, George, Lewis, Richard, and Ernest Wesche. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Angelica Rescue Squad or the Angelica Fire Department. The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, February 20th from 10:30 to 11:00 AM, at Brown and Powers Funeral Home in Angelica, with funeral services to follow with Pastor Marc Chamberlain officiating.
