Arlene D. Hughes Hornell/Rochester Arlene D. Hughes, 89, formerly of Rochester, passed away Saturday (March 12, 2016) at McAuley Manor. Born in Rochester, December 9, 1926, the daughter of Carl and Gertrude Stiegel Coates, she had resided in Rochester for many years before moving to Hornell. Arlene was a former member of the Greece Baptist Church and loved her family and traveling with her friends. In addition to her parents Arlene was predeceased by her husband Jack Hughes in 2002, brother, Henry D. Coates and brother-in-law Louis Szymanski. She is survived by her son, William (Nancy) Hughes of Almond and her Sister, Judith Szymanski of Holley, many nieces a nephews. Honoring Arlene’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rochester.
