Gerwin L. Sick Arkport Gerwin L. Sick, 86, of 9 Sullivan St, passed away Wednesday (April 6, 2016) at his home. Born in the family home in the Town Of Dansville, April 1, 1930, the son of Schuyler and Leona Rowe Sick, he had resided in Arkport for many years. Gerwin was a graduate of Arkport Central School, Class of 1949, and had been employed in his early life on the family farm on Oak Hill, and later for Hooker & Smith Dump Truck Service, B.R. DeWitt Concrete, Ivan Mastin Milk Hauling, and the former Foster Wheeler Corporation in Dansville where he retired. After his retirement he work at Polly-O-Dairy in Campbell and after his retirement from the Dairy, he worked on the Mahaney Farm in Arkport. He was predeceased by his father in 1982, his mother in 2002, his brother Clifford Sick in 1995 and his wife, Donna Slatt Sick in 2012. He was also predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Anna Sick in 1990 and Sharon Sick in 2006. He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Whitney of North Carolina and Gay Sick of Florida, two sons, Guy (Tammy) Sick of Hornell and Michael (Tina) Sick of Arkport, one brother, Roger (Lisa Leven) Sick of Wayland and 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and cousins. The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Saturday from 11 AM until 1 PM and from 6 PM until 8PM where Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 PM with Rev.
