Carol M. Robinson

Carol M. Robinson – (80) – of 9126 Cobb School Road, Arkport, died Friday morning (August 23, 2013) at her home, following a long illness.

Born in Buffalo, NY on February 11, 1933, she was the daughter of Norman & Pearl (Ott) Miller.

Carol resided in the Buffalo area until the age of seven and lived with her aunt & uncle, Rev. Arthur & Thelma Sennewald in Warren PA for several years.  She resided in Hornell during her teen years and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1951). She has resided on Cobb School Road since 1956.

She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church in Hornell and most recently was a member of the South Dansville Methodist Church.

Carol was employed for several years as a teller at Steuben Trust Company and for 28 years as a ward clerk at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.  In 1997 she began working as a receptionist at Dr. Al Sinjari’s medical office, a position that she held until 2012.

She served as an election inspector for the Town of Dansville since the 1960’s.  She enjoyed reading, knitting and counted cross stitching.  She also had a deep love of animals, especially her pet dogs, cats & horses.

Carol was married on September 22, 1956 to Theodore A. “Ted” Robinson who died December 27, 2007. 

Surviving are 1 son, Theodore “Ted” (Renee) Robinson of Arkport; 3 daughters, Ann Seamon of Arkport, Carey (Mike) Houghtaling of Arkport and Sharon (Lynn) Herrick of Canisteo; 12 grandchildren, William (Catie) Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Clarissa Robinson, Elizabeth Robinson, SSGT L.J. Seamon, Crystal Seamon, Yontina Seamon, Jessica Houghtaling, Virginia Capluzzi, Samantha Herrick, Tyler Herrick and Leanna Herrick; 1 great-granddaughter, Natalie Capluzzi; 2 cousins, Judy (Steven) Lawrence and Ellen Sennewald; several nieces & nephews.

The family of Carol M. Robinson will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Roger Reed officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in South Dansville.

Carol’s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to either the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843 or to Care First, (formerly Southern Tier Hospice), 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.  Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.
