Rexville
Ronald G. Hurd Sr., 79, of State Rt. 248, passed away Monday (November 11, 2013) at home .
Born in Greenwood, November 10, 1934, the son of Frank and Bernice Rogers Hurd, he had resided most of his life in Greenwood/Rexville area. Ron was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local #832 for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite driver being Kyle Busch. Ron loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at his cabin watching over his deer herd.
He was predeceased by his father.
He is survived by his mother Bernice Ordway of Canisteo, longtime companion, Barabra (Barbie) Miles of Rexville, three sons; Ronald (Tammy) Hurd Jr., Robert Hurd and Jamie Hurd all of Greenwood; daughter, Pamela (Gerald) Kijowski of Canisteo, one step-son, Stephen Moore of Greenwood, one sister, Carol Houghtaling of Taylor TX, and one granddaughter, Haleigh Hurd of Greenwood.
