Robert L. Love, 88, of 171 Deseyn Drive, formerly of Alfred, passed away Wednesday (November 13, 2013) surrounded by his loving family in Canandaigua.
Bob retired after a long career in education, including Middlesex Valley School and Alfred State College, where he was the Dean of Allied Health and Professor of Biochemistry. Following his retirement in 1981, Bob and Janet, his wife of 58 years, served as tireless volunteers in a number of Christian Ministries. After living in Alfred for over 50 years, they moved to Canandaigua in 2003 where, most recently, Bob was actively involved in Gideon’s International, prison ministry, Hospice Volunteer and Lay Ministries
He was predeceased by his wife Janet in 2006.
He is survived by their four children, Bob (Rose), Andrew(Rebekah), Charlie (Bettyann), and Cindy (John) . 10 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren.
Bob was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Canandaigua, where a memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at 2 PM. Burial will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
