Margaret D. Kendall

Hornell

Margaret D. Kendall, 70, of 44 Center Street, passed away Friday (November 22, 2013) at the Wellsville Manor.

Born in South Canisteo, June 28, 1943, the daughter of Howard and Eudora Campbell Kendall, she had resided in the Alfred and Almond area, but most of her life in Hornell. She was a graduate of Jasper Central School and had been employed at the former Marion Rohr in Hornell, as well as several area restaurants including the former Big Elms and Chickery Station. Margaret loved flowers but displayed a great love for all animals.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Flossie Kendall, Harriett Vanderhoef, Grace Petteys, and Ruth Fox as well as her brothers, L.D., Donald, Elmer, Martin, Robert and Frank Kendall.

She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Spike of Hornell, her brothers, Floyd (Karen) Kendall and Pete Kendall both of Canisteo, her sister-in-law, Joanne Kendall of Dansville and her former son-in-law, Leonard Spike Sr., her grandchildren, Leonard Spike Jr, Jennifer (Jacob) Sauerbier, and Amanda Spike, 7 great grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Saturday (Nov. 30, 2013)from 1 PM until 2 PM at which time services will be held with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.
