Barbara J. Covert Hornell Barbara J. Covert, 56, of Hornell St., passed away Monday (March 17, 2014) at home. Born in Dansville, December 1, 1957, the daughter of Lloyd and Leah Rawleigh Crance, she had resided most of her life in Hornell. Barbara had been employed as a waitress at the former Ponce DeLeon, the Day Care at the YMCA and a CNA at the Hornell Gardens. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her father, one son; Marvin Hurlburt in 2006, one grandson, Theodore Jay Wood Jr. in 1993, two brothers; Frank and Robert Watson Sr., one sister; Shirley Parsons. She is survived by her mother, Leah Watson of Hornell, one son, Hal (Lesley) Hurlburt of Canaseraga, two daughters, Tracy (Christopher Allman) Ames of Hornell and Louise Hurlburt of Bath, three brothers, Ronald (Linda) Watson of Cohocton, Keith (Vicki) Parsons of Hornell and Doug (Nancy) Crance of PA, five sisters, Connie Greunke of Birdsall, Helen Watson of Fl, Lois (Steve) Mix of Canisteo, Bonnie (Ron) Archambeau of Rochester and Patricia (Jim) Weber of Arkport, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will follow calling at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.
