Eugene R. DiCaprio Cohocton/Haskinville Eugene R. DiCaprio, 68, of State Route 21, passed away Friday (July 25, 2014) at Strong Memorial Hospital. Born in Amsterdam, NY, August 8, 1945, the son of Eugene and Leona (Vickery) DiCaprio, he was a resident of the area for many years. He was retired from Andover Central School as a Chemistry & Physics Teacher. Eugene had also taught at Arkport Central School, and was a member of SS. Brendan and Jude Parish, and a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing, and collecting and working on foreign cars. Eugene had also coached boys’ basketball in Arkport, and girls’ basketball and soccer in Andover. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his sister Johann StLaurent of Exeter, NH, 2 brothers Ralph (Linda) DiCaprio of Webster, NY and Nicholas (Maureen) DiCaprio of Bourne, MA, several nieces and nephews, and many many close friends. The family will be present 2-4 &7-9 pm Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at St Brendon Church on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Fremont.
