Paduano, 75, of 331 Cleveland Ave., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday (November 28, 2014) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell. He was born the second son of Joe and Gertrude (Freas) Paduano in Holley, NY on August 29, 1939. He moved to Dansville with his family during his preschool years. Joe was a very creative and gifted master electrician and possessed two patents for his inventions in this field. A hard working man. He was employed as a master electrician at SUNY Geneseo and the Rochester Institute of Technology for many years. He also created “Knob Notes”, a creative and humerous collection of “Do Not Disturb” door hangers. Joe enjoyed and pioneered hang gliding in Western New York. Adventurous by nature, he eagerly flew through the air, enjoying the freedom of movement. His eagerness infected many others who took to the skies as he cautiously coached them. A romantic and charming man, Joe eloped on Valentines Day in 1981 with the former Marie Cone. Although many remarked that the marriage would never last, they enjoyed more than thirty three years as husband and wife, devoted to each other. On March 15, 1998, as the dementia from Alzheimers disease was becoming more and more apparent, Joe trusted in the Lord as his Savior. His enthusiasm for the the Lord was contagious. Joe will be missed for his extraordinary sense of humor, even as he battled Alzheimers disease and Multiple Sclerosis for more than twenty years. He will long be remembered for his amazing strong will and determination. He was predeceased by his parents, his half brother, Rudolph Pfuntner Jr., and an infant grandson, David Paduano 11 in 2004. He is survived by wife, Marie, a daughter, Kathleen Paduano of Rochester, a son David (Meghan) Paduano of Hornell his grandchildren, Joey, Tamika and Gabriella Paduano of Hornell, two brothers, Thomas (Sue) Paduano of Clifton Park and Robert (Sharon) Paduano of Caladonia, his sister, Cecelia (David) Tolner of Dansville, and especially the many loving care givers at McAuley Manor who provided compassionate care for the last six years of his life.
