Andrea (Testani) Gordon

Andrea J. “Spook” (Testani) Gordon – 46 – of New York City, formerly of Hornell, passed peacefully from this world Sunday night, following a valiant battle with colon cancer.  She was surrounded by her husband, family and close friends, in the comfort of her own home.

Born and raised in Hornell, Andrea graduated from Hornell High School, earned her B.A. in Theatre form Elmira College, and her MFA in Directing from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.   She was a resident of New York City where she had become one of Broadway’s most successful and sought after stage managers, working with some of the biggest names in the business.  Her reputation for her professionalism, wit and charm is legendary in the theatre community. 

She left her professional life to dedicate her indefatigable energy and boundless love to her greatest achievement, her two beloved boys.  She had most recently started teaching a stage management class at Fordham University which accommodated her boy’s school schedule.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jovena.

Andrea, who was affectionately known as “Spook” by almost all who met her, is survived by her husband, John Gordon; sons, Robert and Sean; parents, William and Ruth Testani; eight brothers & sisters, Thomas Testani, Mary (Frank) Kilcoyne, Rosanne (Thomas) Wall, Jim (Samantha) Testani; Matthew (Jodi) Testani; Michael (Lina) Testani; Marisa (Dr. Richard Ferro) Testani, and Angela (David) Remchuk; many nieces & nephews.

Local funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.  A complete obituary announcing local funeral arrangements will appear next week in the Evening Tribune.
