Leroy J. Mills Sr. Arkport Leroy J. Mills, 76, of 20 Meadows Park, passed away Saturday (March 14, 2015) at the Hornell Gardens after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Born in Hornell, July 16, 1938. He worked several jobs before going into the Army in 1961 and had an honorable discharge in 1963. He was married May 2, 1964 in Hornell to Shirley Ames who predeceased him in 1983. He retired from Foster Wheeler in 1992. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and feeding the birds and squirrels. Besides his wife Leroy was predeceased by one brother, Charles Mills, sister, Doris Gordon and a grandson, Christopher Ames. Leroy is survived by two sons, Leroy (Marcia) Mills Jr. of Arkport and Tom (Cindy) Mills of Canisteo, three step-sons, Rich (Tina) Ames of Niagara Falls, Tim (Melissa) Ames of Woodhull and Steven Ames of Wisconsin, two sisters and one brother, Trudi Hill, Cyndi Gordon and Jon (Shirley) Gordon, all of AZ, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several Aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
