Arlinda M. (Preston) Negron Hornell Arlinda M. (Preston) Negron, 72, of Hornell St., passed away Tuesday (July 7, 2015) at her home. Born in Hornell, March 14, 1943, the daughter of John and Marjorie Peck Flynn, she had resided in Hornell all her life. Arlinda was a mother to the community children and always took them in during their times of troubles and loved teaching children to dance. Arlinda also loved singing, Vikings football team, collectables, dream catchers and Elvis. She was also active in Relay for Life. In addition to her parent’s she was predeceased by, two children, Jeffrey and Dahl Preston, four brothers, Raymond “Buster” Masterson, Raoul Masterson, Donald Masterson and Terry Myer, three sisters, Delores Sirrianni, Juanita “Neet” Harrington and Naomi Hurlburt, She is survived by her longtime companion, Leo Preston of Hornell, her children, David (Melannie) Negron of Canisteo, Kay (Merton III) Sammis of Rocky Top TN, Robert (Melissa) Preston of Hornell, Christopher (Sheryl) Preston Sr. of Mt. Morris, Raeabella (James) Franklin of Wellsville, Jody (Sharon Welch) Preston of Hornell, Opieadiea “Opie” (Roseanne) Preston of Hornell, and Cherkee (Sarah Lewis) Preston of Canisteo, brothers, Dale (Sue) Flynn of Hornell, Ricky (Sandy) Myers of Alfred, Patrick (Sue) Moore of Corning and Ernie (Mary) Myers of Hornell, sisters, Barbaranne Lamphier of Santa Anna CA, several grand and great grandchildren. The family will be present to receive friends on Monday (July 13, 2015) from 11Am-1Pm, at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will follow calling at 1Pm at the funeral home, Rev. Phillip Casterline officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery Hornell.
