Roderick C. Ford Greenwood Roderick C. Ford, of Greenwood passed Friday (December 18, 2015) at his home “He said He didn’t feel well”. Rod succumbed from his lifetime addiction to taters and gravy. Born in the town of Jasper on May 23, 1944, the son of Jennings B. and Betty Bailey Ford. Rod was a graduate of the former Angelica Central School and Alfred State College. On July 3, 1965 in West Jasper, he married Doris Copenhaver who survives. He was a licensed gunsmith and Co-Owner with his wife of “The Gun Shop” in Hornell. He was a life member of the National Rifle Assoc., life member of the Empire State Arms Collectors Assoc., member and former treasurer of the Hornell Sportsman’s Club, former member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club. Rod enjoyed shooting sports, target shooting, marathon running, rock climbing, riding his favorite horse “Tickles”, NASCAR racing and local politics. Rod was predeceased in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Earl Ford in 1968, granddaughter, Faith Lockwood in 2003. He is survived by his loving wife Doris of 50 years, daughter, Merrie Jo (Timothy) Lockwood of Rexville, son, Roderick “Rik” (Sukanya) Ford of Greenwood. Rod enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Shane and Vince Lockwood of Rexville, and Riky and Meah Ford of Greenwood, great granddaughter Ember Lockwood, sister, Sue Studer of Podunk “Bono” AR, brother, Rockie (Darlene) Ford of Greenwood, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends from 4-6PM on Monday (December 21, 2015) at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St. Canisteo, NY 14823. Funeral Services will follow calling hours at 6PM at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Greenwood Cemetery.
