Gloria E. Saxton, 88, of 4652 Route 70-A, went home to be with her Lord on Monday (December 16, 2013) in Cape Coral, Florida.
Born in Haledon, New Jersey, August 23, 1925, she was the daughter of Harold T. and Etta J. (VanRiper) Fullwood, Gloria was raised in Paterson New Jersey by her grandfather (“Pop Pop”) and her aunts. She and her husband Shirley owned and operated a local taxi service in Avoca. They also owned and operated Shirley’s Tavern for 20 years. Her love for her husband and her children was foremost in her life. Her compassion and generosity touched countless lives; anyone who knew her, loved her. She loved gardening and family gatherings.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Shirley, her sons-in-law, Anthony Kanaval and Richard Yartym, her grandson McKendrick Decker, and great granddaughter, SGT. Devin A. Snyder.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Kanaval (Clair) Fairbrother of Cohocton, Scharon (Clifford) Harrington of Tennessee, Etta McConnell Yartym of Hammondsport, Deborah Gielen of Avoca, and Darlie (Peter) Doddato of Florida, 2 sons Andrew Saxton of Avoca and Michael (Cynthia) Saxton of Avoca, and sister-in-law Charlotte Richardson, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great granddaughters.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at the Wallace Wesleyan Church form 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held following calling hours at 1:00 PM, Rev. William Spencer, and Rev. Daniel Pickering officiating. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery. .
