Richard S. “Bud” VanDuser Almond Richard S “Bud”. VanDuser, 79, of 30 Main Street, passed away suddenly Sunday (June 1, 2014) at St James Mercy Hospital. Born in North Hornell, July 24, 1934, the son of Howard and Bernice (Townsend) VanDuser, he was a lifelong area resident. Bud was retired from Buffalo Crushed Stone in Alfred, holding many positions including mechanic, welder, and supervisor. He was a member of the Almond Fire and Ambulance, and a former member of the Hornell Eagles, and Hornell Moose Lodge. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Jeanine Watson VanDuser whom he married August 31, 1957 and was predeceased by her in 1991. He is also predeceased by his sister Alberta Lewis, and his brother Paul Binder. He is survived by 3 daughters Monica (Dale) Montgomery of NC, Debbie (Eric) Smith of VA, Teeka (Michael) Sherman of West Almond, 2 sons Terry (Sherry) VanDuser of Hornell, Richard VanDuser of Hornell, his dear close friend and caretaker Rose Acor of Almond, 2 sisters Nancy Griffin of Almond, Doris Mullen of Almond, 2 brothers Donald (Bonnie) VanDuser of FLA, Kenneth VanDuser of Almond, 22 grandchildren and numberous great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
