Cynthia L. (Cindy) Polanowski Angelica Cynthia L.(Cindy) Polanowski, 53, of 65 East Main Street, passed away Tuesday (June 10, 2014) at St James Mercy Hospital in Hornell as a result of injuries sustained in an auto-pedestrian accident in Angelica. Born in North Hornell, September 2, 1960, the daughter of William and Louise Strait Spicer, she was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1978. Cindy received her LPN degree from BOCES, and her RN Degree from Alfred State College. She had been employed as a registered nurse in the emergency department at St. James Mercy Hospital Hospital and at the time of her death was Senior Vice President of Clinical and Program Services for the Allegany ARC, where she had been employed since 1995. Cindy was a member of Chapter 620, Hornell Moose Lodge and had recently received the title College of Regents. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, golf, bowling, but will be best remembered for her love for her family, She was predeceased by her mother, Louise Spicer. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Polanowski of Angelica, her father, William Spicer of Hornell, 3 daughters, Megan (Cody) White of Angelica, Brenna (Joshawane Ivey) Polanowski of Georgia, Nikki (Logan Ost) Polanowski of Hornell, 2 brothers, Bradley (Patti) Spicer of Hornell and Steven (Victoria) Spicer of Illinois, her mother-in-law, Norma Polanowski of Belfast, grandchildren, Saige Olivia White, Joshawane Ivey, Jazmyne Ost, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Friday from 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM until 2 PM and 4PM until 6 PM. A Moose memorial service will be held at 6 PM at the funeral home followed by the Funeral services with Rev Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, Stephens Mills.
