Clik here to view.Jeanne Meacham Hornell Jeanne Meacham, 91, formerly of Albion Street, passed away Wednesday (November 12, 2014) in Endicott. Born in Hornell, August 8, 1923, the daughter of Abraham Joseph Jr. and Zara Thomas Joseph, she had resided in Hornell her entire life until moving recently to Endicott. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1942, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Hornell. Following her graduation from high school, Jeanne served in the United States Army Air Force during WW-2. She later graduated from the Culver Academy School of Beauty Culture in Rochester, and was employed by the former Cinderella Beauty Shop in Hornell and later, established Jeanne’s Beauty Shop on Albion Street in Hornell, and operated the shop until her retirement in 2000. She was a past member of the New York State Hairdressers Association and a past member of the Hornell Lodge Woman of the Moose. She was an avid bowler and had the first 700 series (735) for a woman bowler in New York State. She had a great love of all animals, She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband William in 2002. Brown, Director at Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Hornell. She is survived by her long time caregiver Theresa Henry of Endicott. Honoring Jeanne’s wishes, a private funeral service was held at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell on Friday. Rev. Douglas Carroll officiated. Burial was in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
