Sandra Gay Hunt Wellsville/Belmont Sandra Gay Hunt 79, recently of the Wellsville Manor, and formerly of Belmont, died Thursday (June 11, 2015) after an extended illness. Sandra was born May 16, 1936 at home in Angelica, New York, the daughter of Clifford and Rosemary Stillwill Grastorf. On August 16, 1952, in Belmont she married Leo “Don” Hunt. Sandra was a graduate of Belmont High School, Class of 1952. She started her career in 1956, and along with her husband Don, Bayard Tullar, and Conrad Church, they formed Genesee Valley Nurseries, which did landscaping for New York State until the company was sold in 1996. In addition The Hunt’s owned the Belmont Laundry, and Warsaw and Perry car washes, which their son Douglas “Pat” Hunt still owns and operates today. Mrs. Hunt was a member of the St. Mary’s Church in Belmont, the Republican Women’s Club, and other organizations. Mrs. Hunt was a very active business woman; she was happiest sitting at her desk, running her numerous businesses, while raising 8 children! Surviving are 7 children Douglas “Pat” Hunt of Belmont, Denise Hart of Angelica, Daryl “Joe” Hunt, Dennis (Billy Jo) Hunt, Daniel (Joy) Hunt, and Deborah Hunt all of Belmont, and Donald “Mike” Hunt of Friendship, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her son in law William Hart of Caneadea. She was predeceased by her husband Don in 2004, her mother Rosemary in 2012, her father Clifford and son David Leo Hunt in 1999, and her granddaughter Paige Hunt in 2007. A Graveside Memorial+ Service will be held on Friday (July 10, 2015) at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Belmont, with Deacon Frank Pasquale officiating.
