Toni L. Kastner Hornell Toni Lee Kastner, 54, after a long battle with cancer she passed away Thursday, (February 5, 2015) at 10:30 pm. She was brought home with her son and 4 of her grandchildren to feel comfortable around family whom loved her. Born in Hudson, NY, March 9, 1960, she was the Daughter of the late Thelma VanAlstyne . A Beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend, she leaves behind 3 Sons, 4 Daughters, and 21 Grandchildren. Anna M. LoCoco – (87) – died Friday evening (February 13, 2015) at Hornell Gardens where she had resided for the past 5 years.

A native & life resident of Hornell, she was born April 21, 1927, and was the daughter of George & Anna Marie (DeStefano) LaFaro.

Anna was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1946).  She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.  She was a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary where she served as chaplain for 10 years.  Anna had also been a member of the Maple Leaf Cootiettes, the Hornell Rebecca Lodge and the Hornell Association.  She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards.

She was married on December 27, 1947, to Joseph LoCoco who died in 1992.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph LoCoco; brothers, Joseph (died 1909), Joseph (died 1918), Hugh LaFaro, George LaFaro, Dominic LaFaro, Angelo LaFaro and Joseph “Sonny” LaFaro; her sisters, Congetta France, Josephine LoCoco, Vincena Trowbridge, Teresa Nasca, Mary “Mamie” Mastriani, Catherine Wilson, Lucille Fawcett & Rose LaFaro; her son-in-law, Mickey Donahue.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Patricia LoCoco of Hornell and Belinda (John) Coleman of Hornell; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Pierce of Canisteo; 7 grandchildren, Kevin (Melissa) Hughes, Joseph Hughes, Michael Hughes, Sean Hughes, John (Elizabeth Vanhouten) Coleman II, Rachelle Carnes and Michael Hardy; 5 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

The family of Anna M. LoCoco will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, where funeral & committal services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Daniel J. Racalto

Daniel J. “Dan” Racalto – (63) – of 80 Greenwood St., Canisteo, died early Tuesday morning (February 17, 2015) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY, following a Long illness.

Born in Hornell on April 1, 1951, he was the son of Angelo & Catherine (Oakes) Racalto.

Dan was a lifelong resident of Hornell, moving to Canisteo in 2013.  He was a graduate of St. Ann’s School and later graduated from Hornell High School (class of 1969).

He was employed for nearly 20 years as an Insurance Agent for Metropolitan Insurance Company (Met Life) in Hornell.  In 1989, he established Daniel J. Racalto Insurance of Hornell and has owned & operated the agency since that time.

Dan was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and had been a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church and later St. Ann’s Church.  For many years he sang in the choir of both churches and also served as a Cantor, Eucharistic Minister and Lector.  He was a former member of the Hornell Knights of Columbus.

Having a great love of sports, Dan was a well known and respected baseball umpire in New York State and Pennsylvania.  For many years he umpired at the high school & college level and also in the Hornell Babe Ruth League.  For several years he umpired at the National Fast Pitch Softball Tournament in Elkland, PA.

For many years, Dan served as a referee for area high school football games and later for the Hornell Midget Football League where he was instrumental in the formation of the Midget League Referee Association.  Throughout the years, Dan was an avid bowler and was a member of several bowling leagues.  In his younger years, he served as a “Pin-Boy” at the former DeLuxe Lanes in Hornell.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie Racalto who died in 1972.

He was married on November 6, 1970 to the former Nancy Morse who survives.  Also surviving are his son, Daniel (Katie) Racalto of Novi, MI; his daughter Catherine “Katie” (Miguel) Herrera of Canisteo; 2 brothers, James (Dolores) Racalto of Bremerton, WA and Peter (Addie Lou) Racalto of Bath, NY; 7 sisters, Mary Hanrahan of Hornell, Joyce (Bob) Albright of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rose Marie Racalto of Oklahoma City, OK, Carol (Herman) Archunde of Newark, NY, Marianne (Mike)Matacale of Hornell, Elizabeth “Beth” (Joseph) Zaffran of Buffalo, NY and Catherine (Rick) Bergquist of Hornell; 4 grandchildren, Milly Herrera, Sophia Herrera, Angelo Herrera and Giovanni Herrera; 2 brothers-in-law;Tom (Karen)Morse, of Canisteo,NY Tim (Mary)Morse of Canisteo, NY, 4 sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Gerry) Chaffee of Canisteo, NY, Mary (Steve) Schaumberg of Canisteo, Anne Fronk of Hornell,NY , Bridget (Dave)Morse of Horseheads, NY; his mother in-law Carol Morse of Canisteo, NY  and several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews and cousins and his  dear friend Father Paul Schnacky.

The family of Daniel J. “Dan” Racalto will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.

Lorraine R. Samuelson Fairport/Canisteo Lorraine R. Samuelson, 67, formerly of Canisteo , passed away Thursday (February 19, 2015) at the F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. She was born in Hornell, August 20, 1947, the daughter of Carl and Rose Saba Micglire. She was predeceased by her parents, an infant daughter and two brothers, Anthony and Carl Micglire Jr. She is survived by two sons, Brian (Valerie) Samuelson of South Carolina and Shane (Jessica) Wheaton of Lockport, four sisters, Linda (Ken) Knapp of Elmira, Mary (Fred) Woodworth of Arkport, Shirley Cole of Nunda and Diane (Richard) O’Conner of Oswego, two brothers, John (Patricia) MicGlire of Lake George and Mike (Kris) Micglire of Florida, 7 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. David Keith. Meacham Marlton, NJ /Alfred David Keith Meacham, 66 of Marlton, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday February 19, 2015. Born in Hornell, he was the son of the late Reynard Keith and Eunice Jane Meacham and had resided in Marlton for the past 20 years. David graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering, while concurrently earning the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Army ROTC. David retired as a Project Manager after working 37 years for General Electric. He proudly served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army from 1971-1973, earning a Commendation Medal . He was an avid hunter and marksman and enjoyed motorcycling. He was an ordained Pastor with Calvary Chapel Church and led church groups at his home for many years. David truly was a fisher of men and was not ashamed of the Gospel or to share his love for Jesus with all who he met. He was predeceased by his parents. He is the beloved husband of Karen Meacham and devoted father of Heidi (Jason) Burdick of Alfred Station, David Przyborski, Timothy (Leah) Meacham of Philadelphia, and Daniel Meacham at home. He is a dear brother to his sister; Michele (Al) D’Agostino of Honeoye Falls, and brothers; Robert (Diane) Meacham of Bucksport, ME, and Jon Meacham of Hornell. In addition, he is also the loving grandfather of Anna, Ellie, Ayden, Micah, Cole, and Henry and the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ethel M. Graham Angelica/Hornell Ethel M. Graham, 89, a 4 year resident of Updykes Willow Ridge in Hornell, formerly of East Main Street in Angelica, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2015. Born in Angelica, August 29, 1925, the daughter of Carl Fay and Louise (Neetz) Palmer, she was a lifelong Angelica resident. She had worked for the former Kane’s Grocery and Harris Grocery in Angelica for many years. Ethel was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ, and participated on many committees. She was also a member of the former Angelica Chapter #231 OES and currently a member of the Kanakadea McArthur Chapter #242 OES in Almond, holding many offices within the Chapters. Ethel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, cherishing them all. Many people were also recipients of her delicious baked goods, especially her cookies. She was predeceased by her husband Leighton “Bush” Graham on December 24, 2002,whom she married January 22, 1945, also her sister Jessie Williams, 4 brothers Edwin, Raymond, Leonard, and Lawrence Palmer. She is survived by 2 sons Roger (Candice) Graham of Arkport, Leighton “Dip” (Carol) Graham of Denver, NC, 4 grandchildren Kelly (Tim) Costello of Wellsville, Kristy (Robert) Sherman of Brockport, Deanna (Tim) Hand of Angelica, Christopher (Erin) Graham of Belmont, 10 great grandchildren Emily, Cody and Quincy Costello, Myles, Ty, and Allie Sherman, Gavin and Cassidy Hand, Gracyn and Hadleigh Graham, and a sister in law Gertrude Palmer Peaslee of Allentown, New York, several nieces and nephews. Rose M. Parks – 67 – of 106 Front St., Hornell, died Friday morning (February 27, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a long illness.

Born in Hornell on August 31, 1947, she was the daughter of Donald & Phyllis (Woodworth) Wyant.

Rose grew up in Hartsville and attended Canisteo Central School.  Throughout the years, Rose was employed at various businesses and for many years worked as a cashier at Smokin’ Joe’s in Hornell.

She was a former member of the Hornell VFW.  Rose enjoyed playing video poker and other games on her computer and also loved shopping.  Her greatest joy, however, was simply spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rose was married on November 23, 1968 to Michael “Mike” Parks who survives.  Also surviving are 2 daughters, Marcy Parks of Rochester and Michelle (Scott) Eason of Hornell; 6 sisters, Mary (Joseph) Carbone of Hornell, Barbara (Raymond) Vosburg of Hornell, Bonnie (Rick) Ankenbauer of Erie, PA, Leanne McCarthy of Hornell, Judy (Brad) Okonski of Almond and Eleanor (Michael) Duffy of Hornell; 1 brother, Harold Wyant of Hartsville; 3 grandchildren, Kristi Parks, Michael Fisk and Colbie Eason; 1 great-granddaughter, Rilee Parks; her cousin, Shelly Eckrote; many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Roy T. Sugden – (61) – of 396 Canisteo St., Hornell died Thursday evening (March 5, 2015) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, following a long illness.

Born in Hornell on January 30, 1954, he was the son of Howard & Clarissa “Skip” (Santon) Sugden.

Roy grew up in Hornell and attended Hornell High School and resided in Nebraska for several years, returning to Hornell in about 20 years ago.   He attended Free Methodist Church in Hornell.

Throughout the years he had been employed as a maintanance worker for several area businesses, including the Hornell American Legion and Stop N Shop. 

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Sugden.

Surviving are his son, Edward; his daughter, Michelle; 2 brothers, Jay (Cathy) Sugden and Donald Sugden; 1 sister, Anita; his dear friends, Francis “Toby” & Harriett Hollister of Hornell; nieces & nephews.

At Roy’s request there will be no calling hours.  Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.

Donna L. Spike Hornell Donna L. Spike, 68, of Church St. passed away Tuesday (March 10, 2015) at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hornell, NY, May 11, 1946, she had resided in Hornell all her life and was raised by her grandparents, Frank and Harriet Woolever Gordon. Donna was a graduate of Bath Haverling High School, and was a certified nurse’s aide and had done home health care for many years. She was employed at the Hornell Gardens for 13 years. Donna enjoyed boating, traveling, long drives but most of all her loving family. She was predeceased by her father, grandparents and her uncle Miland Gordon. Bonnie L. Amidon Florida/Hornell Bonnie L. Amidon, 69, of Sebring Florida, formerly of Hornell, passed away Sunday evening (March 8, 2015) at the home of her daughter, Kim Betker of Hornell Born in Hornell, February 13, 1946, the daughter of LeRoy and Betty Dennis Loper, she had resided in Almond during her early life, and in Hornell most of her adult life. She obtained her LPN degree in Orlando Florida, and had worked for a time at the Hornell Gardens as a LPN and physical therapy aide. She then began her career with the Allegany Arc, beginning as a LPN and held the position of President prior to her retirement. After moving to Florida, Bonnie continued to remain active in the activities of the Buttonwood Bay Retirement Community. She sold real estate, was active in the Big Sister Program and served as a guardian ad litem for children at risk, She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Ada Loper. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Amidon, 4 daughters, Kim “O’Dell” (Mark) Betker of Hornell, Karen Amidon of Georgia, Beckie (Bill) Austin of Andover and Tammy (Guy) Sick of Hornell,3 sons, Todd Amidon of Florida, James Stephen Amidon of Rochester, and James Scott Amidon of Florida, 19 Grandchildren; Chris and Nick O’Dell, Aliesha Roegiers, Lauren Amidon, Haley Withrow, Katie and Raymond Rahmlow, Heather Amidon, Roy and Patrick Austin, Justin Sick, Talana Ingalls, Kayla Widger , Alexandria Snyder, Shaleena McEvoy and Brandon Ingalls, Cody, Devon and Kaleb Amidon, Ken and Kyle Betker, 18 Great Grandchildren. James F. Falzarano Hornell James F. Falzarano, 69, of 21 Fulton Street, passed away Tuesday (March 3, 2015) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. Born in North Hornell, NY, June 21, 1945, the son of James Sylvester and Theresa Falzarano, he had resided in Hornell all his life. He had been employed on the Janitorial Staff at Alfred State College for several years prior to his retirement in 2007. Jim was a member of Our Lady of The Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Hornell. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Joanne Falzarano and his brother Thomas Falzarano. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Westbrook Falzarano, his son, James Falzarano, both of Hornell and 3 sisters, Solida “Pat” (Stan) Krupa of Rochester, Mary (Lennie) Swartz of Rochester and Christine (Ron) House of Avon, nieces and nephews. Alice L. Salvagin Hornell Alice L. Salvagin, 100, formerly of 469 State Route 21, passed away Friday (March 13, 2015) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell. Born in Hartsville, January 2, 1915, the daughter of John T. and Alma Razey Amidon, she had resided most of her life in Hartsville before moving to the Town of Hornellsville in 1967. She had been employed for ACES at Alfred State College for 18 years prior to her retirement in 1983. She was a 25 year member of the former Hartsville Grange. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin M. Salvagin on January 25, 1980, her sisters, Theresa Smalt, Delma Edwards, Elsie VanCampen and Clara Edwards, as well as her five brothers, Elton, Otto, Walter, Theodore, and Murray Amidon. She is survived by her daughter, Veola ( Harold) Coller of LeRoy, her sons, Edwin J. (Bonnie) Salvagin of Indiana, and Gary (Kathy) Salvagin of Hornell, 8 grandchildren; Harold (Lori) Coller, Norman Coller, Jo Ann Coller, Edwin J. Salvagin III, Ricky Lee (Darlene) Salvagin, Tina Marie (David) Frankenbery, Jeffrey (Mallorie) Salvagin and Andrew Salvagin, 7 great grandchildren, Paul, Matthew (Sloane ), and Shaun Coller, Samantha, Christopher, Maverick and Evan Salvagin, several nieces and nephews. George J. Hoeffner

George J. Hoeffner – (87) – of 6 Oak Hill St., Arkport, died early Saturday morning (March 14, 2015) at McAuley Manor, following a long illness.

Born in Floral Park, Long Island on February 22, 1928, he was the son of Phillip & Theresa (Wulforst) Hoeffner.

George has resided in the Arkport – Fremont area since the age of 13.  He was a graduate of Arkport Central School (class of 1946).  George was a lifelong potato farmer operating (along with his brothers) Hoeffner Brothers Farms in Fremont, NY and also in Eastville, VA.   In his retirement years, George was affectionately known as “The Corn Man”, for operating a roadside stand on the Almond Road for his brother.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.  George was a deeply religious man who recited the rosary several times every day; said his daily prayers; and watched daily Mass on television.

George was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He loved working on jig-saw puzzles and crossword puzzles.  He also loved working outside and was meticulous about tending to his lawn & shrubberies. 

He was married on November 7, 1953 to the former Lorraine Howe who died in 1989.  He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Philip Hoeffner and Robert Hoeffner; 3 sisters, Irene Briggs, Marion “Dolly” Dorfer and Theresa Hoeffner.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Roxanne (John) Andrews of Saratoga Springs, NY, Patty (Joseph) Damrath of Hornell and Theresa (Richard) Persichilli of Arkport; 3 sisters,  Helen Burke of Hornell, Emma Potter of Moore, OK and Josephine “Sis” Donahue of Rochester; 1 brother, Thomas (Ann) Hoeffner of Hornell; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Andrews, Jonathon Andrews, Caitlin (Marty) DiPetta, Colleen Damrath and John Damrath; 1 great-granddaughter, Gracie Anna DiPetta; many nieces & nephews.

From George’s daughters, Roxanne, Patty & Theresa:  Dad spent countless hours putting puzzles together for his family & friends.  These family members and friends were a part of a puzzle that made up dad’s life.  You may never know where you fit in, but always remember that dad’s life would not have been complete without you!!

Genevieve “June” D’Apice – (90) – formerly of 7294 North Main St. Ext., Hornell, died Saturday afternoon (March 14, 2015) at Hornell Gardens where she had resided for the past 3 years.

Born in Elmer, PA on June 3, 1924, she was the daughter of Charles & Jenny (VanPelt) Cole.

June grew up in the Canisteo – Adrian area and was a graduate of Canisteo Central School.  She had been employed for several years at the former Dunn’s Drug Store where she served as manager of the fountain.  She later worked in many capacities at Woolworth’s Department Store where she especially enjoyed decorating the Easter Candy.  June had been employed at Modern Cleaners in Hornell and for about 14 years ran the Snack Counter at the Hornell Bowl.  Most recently she helped out at D’Apice Market which was located on the corner of River St. & John St. in Hornell. 

As an avid animal lover, June enjoyed feeding the neighborhood dogs & cats and also loved feeding the birds. 

June was married on October 24, 1945 to Robert D’Apice who died December 2, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Matthew Luke D’Apice and Randy D’Apice; 2 brothers, Charles Cole & Walter Cole; 3 sisters, Marie Howland, Virginia Cotton & Maple Cole.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Anna Baker of Hornell; 3 sons, Robert (Pat) D’Apice of Arkport, Randy (Connie) D’Apice of Hornell and Andrew D’Apice of Arkport; 4 grandchildren, Peter Persichilli, Crystal (Rob) Henshaw, Deanna D’Apice & Daniel D’Apice; 2 great-grandchildren, Jacob Henshaw and Chloee Henshaw; several nieces & nephews including her “special niece”, Sue Campbell.

E. Lorraine Crandall – 87 – of Green Acres Trailer Park, Hornell, died Saturday afternoon (March 7, 2015) at her home, following a long illness.

Born in Hornell on February 1, 1928, she was the daughter of Francis and Elizabeth (Malone) Barnett.

Lorraine was a graduate of Lincoln School and later graduated from Hornell High School (class of 1945).  She was employed as secretary to Executive Vice President at the Hornell Area Chamber of Commerce for several years.  For 28 years she was employed at Alfred State College (SUNY Alfred) as Assistant to the President, serving three presidents: David Huntington, John Hunter, and William Rezak.  She retired in 1997.

She had been a communicant of St. Ignatius Loyola Church and more recently was a member of St. Brendan / St. Jude Parish.  Lorraine had been a member and served as secretary of Women’s Council at Alfred and a member of the Alfred Association of Women and the Friends of the College Cultural Association.  She had been a member, secretary, and vice-president of the Hornell Area Arts Council, and a founder and charter president of the National Secretary’s Association (NSA), now known as International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).  She had also been a member of the Mayor’s Citizen Advisory Committee of Hornell, the Hornell Business and Professional Women, and a member of Wee Playhouse of Alfred.

Lorraine was married on May 26, 1951 in St. Ignatius Loyola Church to Neil C. Crandall, who died February 24, 1989.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers: James “Jim” Barnett (died 1989), Francis “Ace” Barnett (died 1991), William “Bill” Barnett (died 1995), and Michael “Mike” Barnett (died 1996).

Surviving are her longtime partner-in-life, John F. “Jack” Smith, her children: Colleen (David) Mantell of Greece, NY; Michael (Ervilla) Crandall of Almond, NY; Elizabeth (Michael) McDaniels of Hornell, NY; and Kathleen (Andrew) Bayus of Alfred Station, NY; 2 stepchildren: Kathleen Smith of Mt. Dora, FL, and Kellie Smith of Burlington, VT; 12 grandchildren: Michael (Janice) Mantell; Kevin (Melyssa) Mantell; Jeffrey (Jenelle) Mantell; Andrea (Sean) DeRubba; Eric (Shelly) Crandall; Erin Crandall; Chere′ (Randy) Troxel; Meshion (Bruce) Hackett; Corinne (Jesse) McDaniels-Davidson; Jacob, Lucas, and Levi Bayus; 11 great-grandchildren: Holden, Harrison, Miles, Maria, Joshua, Kennedy, Colton, Sawyer, Dylan, Abigail, and Cecilia; several nieces and nephews.

The family of Lorraine Crandall will receive friends on Thursday, (March 12, 2015) from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY, where a memorial service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6 p.m. with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.

Cleon L. “Mide” Brutsman Cameron Cleon L. “Mide” Brutsman, 73, of County Rt. 119, passed away Wednesday (March 18, 2015) at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Born in Hornell, June 27, 1941, the son of Clarence and Melvina Campbell Brutsman, he had resided most of his life in Cameron. Mide had retired as a Truck Driver from the Cameron Department of Public works and loved the outdoors, country music, family, and having a beer with his friends. In addition to his parents Mide was predeceased by 6 Step-Brothers, Robert, Clinton, Alvin, Dale, Ronald and Raymond Brutsman, 3 step-sisters, Alice Weed, Mary Louise Brutsman and Rita Tidd. Robert L. Jund Angelica Robert L. Jund, 90, passed away Monday (March 23, 2015) after a brief illness at the Hart Comfort House of Allegany County in Wellsville. Born in Rochester, May 1, 1924, the son of Leo and Elsie (Eastwood) Jund, he had resided in Angelica full-time for the last 30+ years. Robert was a self-employed wallpaperer/painter in the Rochester area. He was a veteran of the US ARMY during World War II serving from 1943-45. While in service he attained the Good Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Medal. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Lillian in 1993, and his sister Vera. He is survived by his longtime companion Chris, several nieces, nephews and lots of extended family. The family will be present 11am-1pm Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, Angelica, where funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, with Deacon Frank Pasquale officiating. Leroy J. Mills Sr. Arkport Leroy J. Mills, 76, of 20 Meadows Park, passed away Saturday (March 14, 2015) at the Hornell Gardens after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Born in Hornell, July 16, 1938. He worked several jobs before going into the Army in 1961 and had an honorable discharge in 1963. He was married May 2, 1964 in Hornell to Shirley Ames who predeceased him in 1983. He retired from Foster Wheeler in 1992. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and feeding the birds and squirrels. Besides his wife Leroy was predeceased by one brother, Charles Mills, sister, Doris Gordon and a grandson, Christopher Ames. Leroy is survived by two sons, Leroy (Marcia) Mills Jr. of Arkport and Tom (Cindy) Mills of Canisteo, three step-sons, Rich (Tina) Ames of Niagara Falls, Tim (Melissa) Ames of Woodhull and Steven Ames of Wisconsin, two sisters and one brother, Trudi Hill, Cyndi Gordon and Jon (Shirley) Gordon, all of AZ, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several Aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
