Hornell

Jeffrey S. Wilson, 54, of County Rt. 70A, passed away unexpectedly Friday (January 3, 2014) at St. James Mercy Hospital.

Born in Hudson, IN, October 17, 1959, the son of Frank and Ellen Anderson Wilson, he had resided in Hornell since 1972. Jeff was a graduate of the Hornell High School class of 78’ and obtained two associate degrees in Construction Technologies and Computer Sciences. He was a surveyor in Florida and had been employed for 30 years at the Hornell Department of Transportation as a Network Engineer. Jeff was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Hornell where he served as Head Trustee and led the Men’s group. He loved playing the guitar as well as the bass and played in the Jazz band at Alfred State College.

He was predeceased by his parents and father-in-law James Page.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Page Wilson of whom he married in 1980, one son, Christopher (Jackie) Wilson of Alfred Station; two daughters, Irene (Sharon) Draper of Hornell and Heather (Stephan Smith) Wilson of TX, siblings, Mark Wilson of FL, Becky (Scott) Carpenter of FL, Timothy Lonsberry of FL, Holly (Donald) Palm of WY, Penny (Ron) Redman of IN and McKenzie Wilson of IN, Step-Mother, Sue Wilson of FL, six grandchildren, Harper and Jin Wilson, Brooke and Steven Potter, Haleigh and Brandon Smith, Mother-in-law Lola Page of FL, brother-in-law, James M. Page of FL, sisters-in-law, Michele (Terry Freeman) Vanderhoef and Merrian (Alan) Kepner both of FL.

The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2014) from 6PM until 9PM, at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2014) at 11AM at the Hornell Free Methodist Church, Rev. Alan Bliss officiating.

In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the YMCA Pool Fund, 18 Center Street, Hornell, NY 14843, or to the Hornell Free Methodist Church, 60 Washington St. Hornell, NY 14843.
